Primary Purpose
To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and to provide meaningful instruction for assigned classrooms in the absence of the classroom teacher.
Minimum Qualifications
- 24 hours or more college credit
- High School Diploma or GED
- Speak, read, and write English
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate in English with district employees, parents and students
Major Responsibilities And Duties
- Reports to campus secretary and/or administrator upon arrival to building.
- Reviews lesson plans and schedules with campus administrator.
- Maintains established routines and procedures in assigned classroom.
- Teaches lessons prepared by teacher following lesson plan book.
- Consults with campus administrator before initiating procedures not specified in the lesson plan book.
- Affords responsibility for student discipline during school day.
- Performs any extra duties normally assigned to the regular teacher.
- Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the Anthony ISD safety program.
- Supports the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district policies.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by school administration.
Pay Rate
- Non-degreed-24 hours or more college credit- $110 per day
- Degreed (Non-Certified)-$135 per day
- Certified/Retired Teacher (Texas)- $170 per day
Required Attachments
- Copy of high school diploma or equivalent (Please attach under "other")
- Current resume
- Copy of official transcripts from a college or university accredited by a recognized regional accrediting agency
- Copy of Texas Teaching Certificate (If applicable)
- Two current letters of recommendation (letters must be signed) preferably on letterhead (Please attach in "Reference" section)
