About the role
William Penn Charter School seeks per-diem Substitute Educators to cover short and long term teacher absences during the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction (daily lesson plans)
- Safeguard children indoors and outdoors
- Report misbehaviors or repeated discipline issues
- Support students in grades PK-5 with conflict resolution
- Enhance students' social and emotional skills
- Engage in child-centered activities
- Respond effectively to student behaviors
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in education or a related field
- At least three years of documented experience in child care or a classroom/education setting
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in education or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with Quakerism and Quaker education is desirable
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High energy, initiative, and strong work ethic
- Proficiency in G Suite and online learning tools (Seesaw, Soundtrap, Scratch) is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and patience
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work
