About the role
The substitute will uphold the Catholic culture and classroom procedures as outlined by the teacher of record, following detailed instructions and carrying out duties faithfully.
Responsibilities
- Participates in school/church activities.
- Develops and administers school elementary curriculum.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning.
- Instructs students in responsible citizenship and other subject matters.
- Encourages parental involvement and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Supervises students during the school day, including activities involving transportation.
- Administers standardized tests.
Requirements
- Texas State Certification as an Elementary Teacher.
- Texas State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or a related discipline.
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is a plus.
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy.
- Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
