Lane Education Service District (Lane ESD) serves Lane County school districts with a core purpose of Shaping the Future: Supporting Excellence in Education. Lane ESD supports 16 school districts in Lane County, serving approximately 45,000 students. Services include special education, school improvement, technology, and administrative support, focusing on systemic school improvement, multicultural curriculum, and preparing students to be global citizens. About the Programs

• Life Skills Education Program:

  Serves students Kindergarten through Grade 12 with significant intellectual disabilities. Classrooms are located in district buildings throughout Lane County, focusing on functional academics and life activities. Transition classrooms for students aged 19-21 are located on Lane ESD's Westmoreland campus, with instruction primarily in community-based settings. Many students require assistance with personal care or exhibit challenging behaviors. Long-term substitutes may be trained to perform delegated nursing tasks, such as tube feeding.

• Lane School Program:

  A short-term behavioral and academic day school for students Kindergarten to Grade 8 with emotional/behavioral disabilities. Located on Lane ESD's Westmoreland campus, it is a reintegration program designed to transition students back to their home school.

• Comprehensive Services Program:

  Located on Eugene 4J's Fox Hollow campus, this program serves students Kindergarten to Grade 8 with mental health needs. It helps students gain skills to succeed in less restrictive settings. Students are referred by their resident district and transition as determined by an IEP team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and appropriate Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission certification/endorsement(s).
• Prior experience in a similar special education environment is preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to carry out job duties.
• Ability to work harmoniously with others and communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student, staff, and/or parent information.
• Valid First Aid/CPR Card(s) is preferred.

Pay

$236.26 full day rate, $118.13 half day rate.
