SUBSTITUTE School Nutrition General Worker (Casual/Seasonal)

About the role

The School Nutrition General Worker-Substitute (Casual/Seasonal) position at Colonial School District provides support in the overall provision of meal service to children for breakfast and/or lunch. This position works in various school locations and hours can vary.

Responsibilities

• Setting up serving lines
• Preparation and delivery of food to children and staff
• Cashiering
• Dishwashing
• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen facilities and service areas
• Ensuring a safe and inviting environment for students and staff

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and take initiative
• Willingness to learn meal pattern requirements and ServeSafe Certified
• Personal cleanliness and adherence to health, sanitation, and safety standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and tolerate extreme temperatures
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for up to six hours

Qualifications

• Willingness to attend in-service training for personal and professional growth
• Knowledge of meal pattern requirements as specified by the USDA Child Nutrition Program
• Ability to operate, care for, and clean School Nutrition equipment
• Record food and/or supplies taken from storerooms, refrigerators, or freezers daily
• Assist in picking up debris and cleaning cafeteria tables
• Assist co-workers and take initiative to expedite work
• Participation in promoting the Colonial District School Nutrition program
• Positive attitude towards coworkers, students, faculty, and administrators

Schedule

When assigned, this position works 3 hours/day, typically 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. As a substitute worker, there is no guarantee of hours. This position works as needed.
