About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substitute School Counselor to support students' academic, social, and emotional well-being during an extended absence of our full-time counselor. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a student-centered approach to ensure continuity of counseling services.

Responsibilities

• Provide Individual & Group Counseling – Support students with academic, social-emotional, and behavioral challenges.
• Assist with Student Schedules & Academic Planning – Guide students through class selections, graduation requirements, and post-secondary planning.
• Crisis Intervention & Conflict Resolution – Address urgent student concerns and provide appropriate referrals.
• Collaborate with Staff & Families – Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
• Monitor Student Progress – Help track academic performance and behavioral developments, offering interventions as needed.
• Maintain Confidentiality & Compliance – Follow school policies and ethical guidelines in handling student information.

Requirements

• Valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Counseling required
