Job Summary
The Paraeducator assists teachers in the overall support of instructional activities for students who are enrolled in special education moderate/severe programs and/or mainstream classrooms.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Education as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015: High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of higher education study (48 semester units) OR possession of an Associate’s or higher degree OR able to meet a rigorous standard of quality and able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge or and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics
- Prior job-related experiences, paid or voluntary, with school-age children or children/individuals with disabilities
- Letters of Introduction, Other (Transcripts or NCLB Certificate), Proof of HS Graduation, Resume
Desirable Qualifications
- Coursework in education, psychology, child development, classroom behavior management and/or Early Childhood Education
- Experience working with students with disabilities and implementing behavioral management plans for students
Work Location
- Itinerant
