About the District
The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) is the fourth-largest school district in California, located in southern Sacramento County. EGUSD covers 320 square miles and includes 62 traditional public schools, five alternative education schools, an adult school, one charter school, and a virtual academy. Requirements
- Valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit
- Official transcript indicating 48 semester units or more with a C- or better (foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a foreign transcript evaluation center)
- OR Paraeducator Certification, such as the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Paraeducator Certification or Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Certification from EGUSD or any district (contact EGACE at (916) 686-7783 for information)
- OR California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) test results/materials
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certificate (must be a Pediatric certification through the American Red Cross or EMSA-approved)
- Immunization Record: MMR (once in lifetime) and TDAP (within 10 years)
