About the District
The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) is the fourth-largest school district in California located in southern Sacramento County. EGUSD covers 320 square miles and includes 62 traditional public schools, five alternative education schools, an adult school, one charter school and a virtual academy. Requirements
- A valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit
- One of the following:
- Official Transcript indicating 48 semester units or more with a C- or better (individuals who have completed college or university in a country other than the U.S. must obtain and attach a completed Evaluation of Foreign Transcripts)
- Copy of Diploma (A.A. degree or higher) — upon recommendation for hire, Official Transcripts will be required
- Paraeducator Certification, such as the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Paraeducator Certification OR Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Certification from EGUSD or any district (for information regarding the certification, contact EGACE at (916) 686-7783)
- California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
- Valid CPR and 1st Aid Certificate — must be a Pediatric certification through the American Red Cross or EMSA approved
- Immunization Record: MMR (once in lifetime) and TDAP (within 10 years)
