About the role

The Substitute - Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting classroom teachers in providing educational support during their absence.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in managing classroom activities and maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Support students with academic tasks and provide guidance as needed.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of educational principles and practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer literacy.
