Substitute Grounds/Maintenance Worker *On Call, As Needed*

Requirements

Ability to pass the District Proficiency Examination. Possess and maintain a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.

Knowledge

• Proper methods, materials, tools and equipment used in grounds and general utility work.
• Maintenance of lawn sprinkler systems.
• Installation of playground and sports equipment.
• General black-topping, cement and surfacing procedures.
• Various types of utility maintenance jobs.

Abilities

• Maintain sprinkler systems and perform other utility duties.
• Follow oral and written directions.
• Read and follow simple blueprints, work sketches and plans.
• Take responsibility for other helpers and demonstrate procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
• Operate medium-duty equipment properly.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the performance of required duties.
