About the role
Congressional School is seeking Substitute Early Childhood Teaching Assistants.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing the daily program
- Actively supervise the classroom and playgrounds at all times
- Observe, interact, and engage with children
- Maintain proper adult to child ratios with each age grouping and classroom
- Monitor the playground at all times
- Help with meals, and snacks
- Follow daily staffing schedule and assist in rooms when requested by the Early Childhood Coordinator or Lead Teachers
Requirements
- Experience working with infants and toddlers
- Bachelor's degree in a child related field or a child development/early childhood credential
- Able to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the course of the day
- Able to regularly bend, stoop and crouch in order to physically interact with children and ensure their safety
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with children, parents, and co-workers
