Location: District Department – Maintenance and Custodial | Reports to: Custodian Services Manager | Term: As-needed, on-call position
About the Role
The Substitute Custodian ensures district buildings and grounds are regularly and thoroughly cleaned, equipment properly maintained, safety standards upheld, and school grounds are maintained to the standards of the district.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior custodial experience preferred.
- Prior experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondences in English.
- Effective verbal, expressive, and reactive communication skills.
- Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment.
- Adhere to assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear.
- Specific vision abilities include close and peripheral vision.
- May be required to lift up to ~50 pounds.
- Must work with the public and various staff while managing competing demands.
- Works in an environment with quiet to loud noise levels.
- May occasionally come in contact with bloodborne pathogens or other bodily fluids.
- Frequently exposed to high or cold temperatures, chemical compounds, and/or sharp edges.
Pay
$17.70 per hour
