Substitute Bus Driver

Part Time, 10 Month Position - $23.70/hour

Duties

• Operate a school bus and perform safety checks in connection with such operations.
• Considerable responsibility for the safety of passengers carried on regularly scheduled trips.
• Maintain a clean bus.
• Attend meetings and classes as required.
• Provide students with training.
• Perform related work as required.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of the operation of a bus.
• Good knowledge of safety practices, traffic laws and regulations.
• Ability to follow detailed oral and written directions.
• Ability to relate with the public in a positive manner and handle sensitive human problems.
• Dependability and good judgement.
• Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
• Must possess a valid Class A or B License with Passenger (P) School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must complete training requirements specified by NYSED pursuant to 8NYCRR Education Part 156.
