Substitute Bus Aide

About the role

The Substitute Bus Aide assists the bus driver in maintaining a safe, orderly and supportive environment for students during transportation. The Bus Aide ensures that students follow bus rules and provides support as needed throughout the route.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with boarding, seating and exiting the bus safely.
• Ensure seat belts or safety equipment are properly used.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain order on the bus.
• Provide assistance to students with disabilities or special needs.
• Communicate concerns or incidents to the bus driver and/or school staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and remain calm in emergency situations.
• Reliable, patient, and safety-focused.
