Vernon County, Nevada, MO – Part-time Support Teacher Sub role with The Center for Human Services (CHS), an organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, low-income families, and at-risk children since 1955.
About the role
The Support Teacher assists in implementing developmentally appropriate classroom activities that support children’s social, physical, cognitive, and language development while ensuring health and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing a routine of developmentally appropriate activities that support children’s social, physical, cognitive, ATL, and language development.
- Help implement a developmentally appropriate early-childhood program by applying MO Childcare Licensing Standards and Early Head Start (EHS) Performance Standards.
- Maintain Infant/Toddler CPR and First Aid certification; prepare materials and classrooms; maintain required child-to-staff ratios; cover general childcare tasks for evening meetings and events.
- Attend meetings and trainings required by CHS, Licensing, Sanitation, USDA CACFP, and EHS to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas by performing laundry, common-area cleaning, and following food-preparation and sanitation guidelines.
- Promote a positive safety culture by following established safe work practices and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or High School Equivalency Test (GED/HiSET).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Medical exam and TB assessment required prior to hire and every five years.
- Background screening, including fingerprinting, required prior to hire and every five years.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of Paycom platform, ChildPlus, MO kitchen sanitation regulations, and Head Start Performance Standards.

Schedule
Part-time (fewer than 19 hours per week), Monday–Friday; specific hours to be determined.
