About the role

We need people who are willing to fill in at a moment's notice when our staff are out sick or at trainings. You can work as few as a couple hours a week or as many as 40 hours, depending on the needs of that week and your availability.

Responsibilities

• Cover the duties of the teacher or assistant teacher that is out for the day
• Carry out lesson plans
• Prepare snacks
• Help with toileting or diapers
• Assist children in getting dressed and undressed for outdoor play
• Engage in play with children ages one to five
• Follow the lead of the other teacher(s) in the room
• Perform some light cleaning

Requirements

• At least a high school graduate
• Some early childhood college coursework preferred
• Must enjoy working with children
• Must be a responsible and dependable employee
• Must work well with others
• Must be willing to take an online mandated reporter training
• Must complete an online Vermont orientation training
• Must become CPR/first aid certified

Nice to have

• Some college coursework in early childhood education
• Some experience working with children
