• Substation Technical Training Instructor (Utility Industry)

Absolutely thrilled to inspire, train, and develop the utility workforce. Join us as a Technical Training Instructor where you’ll play a pivotal role in preparing utility personnel to safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot critical substation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on technical training for utility employees.
• Creating and enhancing technical learning materials, practical exercises, and instructional resources.
• Developing and maintaining operating procedures, work practices, and technical documentation.
• Collaborating with engineering, operations, and safety teams to ensure training reflects current standards and field practices.
• Serving as a technical resource for employees and leadership while promoting a culture of safety and continuous learning.
• Evaluating learner performance through written, practical, and field-based assessments.
• Maintaining training records and ensuring employee qualifications are up-to-date.
• Participating in emergency restoration activities when operational needs require.

Requirements

• Experience working within electric utility substation operations or maintenance.
• A strong understanding of electrical equipment, safe work practices, and utility operations.
• The ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience leading training sessions, mentoring employees, or coaching field personnel.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• A bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and relevant utility experience will also be considered.
