Substation Drafter

Role Expectations

• Develop and update substation drawings, including: One-line diagrams, Three-line diagrams, Wiring diagrams, Physical layouts, Grounding plans, Conduit and cable routing
• Support engineers by preparing drawing packages for new construction, upgrades, and maintenance projects.
• Maintain accuracy and quality control across all drawings and documentation.
• Incorporate redlines, revisions, and feedback from engineering leads.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, industry codes, and client specifications.
• Organize drawing sets and support document management tasks within CAD and project systems.
• Cook up with internal teams to resolve design issues and ensure smooth project execution.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of utilities substation drafting experience
• Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field OR equivalent professional experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Strong understanding of electrical drafting principles
• Adequate reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Pay Range

$65,000-75,000/year
