Substation CAD Technician

Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering drawings using computer-aided design software, including One Line Diagrams, General Arrangements Sections, Grounding & Conduit Plans, Foundation Plans, Material Lists (BOM), Relay and Control Systems Schematics and Wiring Diagrams.
- Coordinate with engineers and designers of other disciplines like electrical, structural, and civil design practices throughout the course of the project.
- Perform Redline corrections and develop design drawings from initial sketches.
- Perform discipline specific drafting assignments requiring application of standardized drawing techniques, under the direct supervision of an engineer, or other technical professional.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Technical degree or a minimum of 3 years related industry experience
- Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure
- Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
- Experience with 3D Coordination tools
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits
- Intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
Preferred
- A minimum of 3 years related industry experience as a CAD Technician
- Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, MicroStation, and Revit
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $69,000 - $93,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.

Full-time, regular position based in Irvine, California.
