About the role

Pelican Rapids (population 2,424) is seeking an experienced Chief of Police to lead a team of four full-time officers and three to four part-time officers.

Responsibilities

• Leadership of a team of police officers
• Collaboration with the Mayor, City Administrator, City Council, and County Sheriff's Department
• Providing policing services to the community

Requirements

• MN P.O.S.T. Board licensed or eligible by time of appointment
• Valid MN Driver’s license by time of appointment
• A minimum of 7 years full-time experience in law enforcement preferred

• Pass a psychological test
• Pass a background check
• Pass a physical exam
