Substance Abuse Counselor with Master's Degree in Human Services

Key Responsibilities

• Complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork.
• Document patient progress through counseling sessions and interactions.
• Develop and implement psychosocial and individualized treatment plans.
• Identify and address clinical and case management needs.
• Perform at least 20 hours of direct patient contact weekly via counseling.
• Educate patients on treatment, health issues, and recovery steps.
• Obtain urine drug screens and patient identification.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient needs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Masters degree in Human Services or related field.
• Experience in substance abuse preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and counseling skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Compliance with state-specific licensure and certification requirements.
