Substance Abuse Counselor (LPC, LCSW, CADC, CAADC)

Description

New Season Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate, licensed Substance Abuse Counselor to join their team in Desoto, MS.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in mental health or intellectual/development disabilities, or a related field and who has agrees to obtain within 90 days of employment either (1) a professional license or (2) a DMH credential as a Mental Health Therapist, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Therapist or Addictions Therapist (PCAT, CAT, PMHT, MHT).
• Absolutely one of the following: An active professional license (such as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LMSW, or other qualifying state license), or
• A Mississippi Department of Mental Health credential as a Mental Health Therapist (MHT), Psychiatric Certified Addictions Therapist (PCAT), Certified Addictions Therapist (CAT), Professional Mental Health Therapist (PMHT), Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Therapist, or
• A qualifying addiction credential, including CADC, CADC-I, CADC-II, CAADC, or CIC.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling for patients receiving substance use disorder treatment
• Complete comprehensive assessments, psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, and clinical documentation
• Conduct admissions, discharges, transfers, and ongoing patient evaluations
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and behavioral health professionals to coordinate patient care
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and educate patients on addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, and wellness
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining regulatory and clinical documentation standards
