Substance Abuse Counselor (LADC, LPC, LCSW, LMSW)

Position Overview

Suspected Substance Abuse Counselor needed to assist patients through medically assisted programs and offer coping strategies for opioid addiction. Counselor conducts group and individual sessions for crisis management and therapy evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels patients individually and in groups
  • Develops and implements individual and group patient teaching projects
  • Coordinates all services throughout treatment
  • Responds to patient grievances and complaints
  • Collaborates with doctors, nurses, and therapists for best overall outcome

Qualifications

  • MUST have a CADC or CAC in the state of Connecticut
  • PREFERRED: LCSW/LICSW, LMHC, or LADC certification
  • Demonstrated counseling experience
  • Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals
  • Positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude towards patient population
  • Bi-Lingual preferred
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen required
