Full Time Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC, CAC, LADC, LPC, LCSW)

About the Role

A Substance Abuse Counselor will assist patients through medically assisted programs and offer techniques for managing opioid addiction. The counselor conducts group and individual sessions to help with crisis management and coping strategies, evaluates patients’ progress during therapy, and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and therapists for optimal treatment outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination.
• Facilitate, establish, and review the initial treatment plan with each patient.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
• Develop and participate in individual or group patient teaching projects.
• Respond to patient grievances and complaints as needed.
• Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Must hold a CADC or CAC in the state of Connecticut.
• Preferred: LCSW/LICSW, LMHC, and/or LADC.
• Demonstrated counseling experience.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patients.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
