Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC or LCAS-A) – Outpatient Addiction Treatment

About the role
We're looking for a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to support our patients on their recovery journey in our Raleigh outpatient clinic.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intakes, admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Complete psychosocial assessments and individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling
- Maintain a minimum of 20 hours of direct patient counseling each week
- Educate patients on addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, and healthy living
- Identify case management and behavioral health needs while coordinating patient care
- Collect urine drug screens and patient identification documentation
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, counselors, and clinic leadership to deliver exceptional patient care
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related behavioral health field
- Active North Carolina CADC or LCAS-A credential required
- Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, mental health, or counseling preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for helping individuals achieve long-term recovery
