About the Role
Practices at the level of a competent to proficient nursing practitioner, demonstrating competence in caring for patients with complex problems while complying with administrative policies and clinical protocols outlined in policy and procedure manuals. Serves as a clinical leader, contributing to standards of care and division goals, acting as a role model for staff, and precepting new employees. Participates in initiatives to increase nursing knowledge.
Administratively responsible to the Manager and Nursing Director for nursing practice issues. Follows the Nursing Process to deliver safe care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Anticipates and synthesizes complex assessment data to influence the total plan of care, sharing pertinent data with the care team and delegating tasks as needed.
- Collaborates with family, team members, and other caregivers to coordinate all facets of patient care, planning with the multidisciplinary team.
- Manages care for complex patients, anticipates needs, and delegates care to other team members as necessary.
- Identifies patient responses, communicates changes to physicians, family, and team members, and contributes to the revised plan of care.
- Documents outcomes and revisions to patient care, adhering to current hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
