Subrogation & Recovery - Department Attorney

Cozen O’Connor is seeking a Department Attorney for the Subrogation & Recovery Department in its Charlotte office. This AmLaw 100 firm offers a 9‑5 role without the pressure of billable hours, focusing on evaluating and handling large property claims.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and handle large property claims, coordinating investigations, retention, and management of experts.
• Identify potential theories of liability and provide client reporting.
• Tri­age large losses, closing non‑viable claims with client approval.
• Identify claims with an appropriate factual and legal basis for pursuit of recovery.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years’ experience handling insurance claims, construction claims, or commercial litigation.
• Excellent interpersonal, research, and writing skills.
• A license to practice law in good standing in the resident state.
