Subrogation & Property Damage Attorney

Duties

  • Represent insurers or clients in claims involving damage to real or personal property (e.g., vehicle damage, fire, water, hail, vandalism)
  • Investigate cause of damage, assess liability, and evaluate repair estimates or total loss value
  • Review and analyze property appraisals, engineering reports, and repair invoices
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel, third parties, or claimants
  • Pursue recovery from at-fault third parties after a claim has been paid by the insurer
  • File lawsuits or arbitration claims against liable parties (e.g., other drivers, contractors)
  • Collaborate with adjusters to review subrogation potential and gather evidence
  • Manage pre-litigation demand letters and post-litigation recovery efforts

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Texas Bar and good standing
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of insurance laws and regulations
  • Adequate litigation experience with trial skills preferred
  • Excellent negotiation, oral advocacy, and legal writing skills
  • Profound proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
