About the Opportunity

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) is seeking submissions of full-length plays, musicals, and musical revues for potential inclusion in future Mainstage, Cabaret, and Stage III Series. Submissions may also be considered for FST’s Burdick Play Reading Series. FST is particularly interested in works that present diverse perspectives on current social and political themes.

Submission Guidelines

• Plays must be submitted through a literary agent or accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a theatre professional (e.g., an Artistic Director or Literary Manager at a professional theatre).
• Include a full script and a character breakdown.
• For musicals, submit shareable MP3 files in addition to the script.
• Florida-based writers without representation may introduce their work by submitting:
  • A query letter
  • A brief synopsis (including cast requirements)
  • A 10-page dialogue sample
• Materials may be submitted electronically (Word or PDF format) or via regular mail. Electronic submissions are strongly preferred.
• If submitting by mail and you wish to have your materials returned, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
• FST is currently unable to accept unrepresented samples from playwrights outside the state of Florida.
