About the role

Lead the future of naval defense as a C5I Submarine SWFTS Modernization Specialist (DOSIC) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. In this high-visibility role, you will bridge the gap between technical planning and deck-plate execution, ensuring the Navy’s most advanced submarine combat systems are integrated seamlessly during critical shipyard availability periods.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct deck plate audits and surveillances and document findings
  • Develop Liaison Action Record (LAR) and Departure From Specification (DFS)
  • Prepare SHIPALT / ECI WAFs and tags
  • Project schedule management
  • Identify and track planned vs. actual progress
  • Identify problem or weak areas with the Alteration Installation Team (AIT)
  • Identify and interpret drawing issues
  • Work with the AIT to ensure deck plate work sequencing is properly executed (i.e., right personnel working in the right areas)
  • Provide written inputs to the Government On-Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC)
  • Participate in Planning and Hotwash events to support MIWG and TI-NEXT
  • Attend LMA meetings, as directed by the OSIC
  • Prepare trip and weekly status reports
  • Prepare technical reports (for drawing issues, LAR submissions, etc.)

Requirements

  • Active Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required to maintain clearance)
  • Ten (10) years of practical experience and a High School diploma/GED OR a degree/formal training and six (6) years of practical experience. Degree/Formal Training is defined as:
    • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or
    • Formal electronics training from a Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or
    • Four-year electronics apprentice program
  • Strong work controls background
  • Project schedule management experience
  • Experience identifying and tracking planned vs. actual progress
  • Experience identifying problem or weak areas with the Alteration Installation Team (AIT)
  • Experience identifying and interpreting drawing issues
  • Experience working with the AIT to ensure proper deck plate work sequencing
  • Experience providing written inputs to the Government On-Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC)
  • Ability to attend LMA meetings, as directed by the OSIC
  • Experience preparing trip and weekly status reports
  • Minimal travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Submarine Combat Systems Modernization experience
  • WAF and Tagout generation experience
  • Development of Liaison Action Record (LAR) and Departure From Specification (DFS)

Pay

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position under the Service Contract Act (SCA). The hourly minimum rate is $37.96. In addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible for an additional health and welfare payment for each hour worked to comply with SCA minimums, depending on the fringe benefits you select.
