About the role

The Subcontracts Representative is responsible for moderately complex subcontract development and/or administration in support of proposal and/or project requirements within the Subcontracts Group. May be responsible for administering Subcontracts Field Management process.

Responsibilities

  • Assigned moderately complex construction contracts. Role may include lead responsibilities of proposal and/or project subcontract efforts.
  • Files appropriate record documents and follows filing rules.
  • Proficient in the basic functions of applicable software. Trains others on the subcontracts processes, as directed.

Subcontract Development Responsibilities (if assigned)

  • Communicates scope of work to bidders and solicits pricing for given proposals or projects. May also lead and coordinate the entire pricing effort on non-major project(s).
  • Prepares subcontract related documents and bidders lists. Prepares, issues and manages the bidding process.
  • Leads and manages the bid evaluation process through the distribution of proposals, preparation of the bid tab, and collaboration with team on the technical evaluation. Makes recommendations for selected bidder(s) and for award.
  • Leads, schedules, coordinates and manages the negotiation process. Able to resolve simple commercial terms and conditions exceptions under oversight.
  • Ensures subcontractor compliance with Prequalification requirements.
  • Understands the Owner's contract and may participate in the incorporation of appropriate scope-specific flowdowns into Subcontracts under oversight.

Subcontract Administration Responsibilities (if assigned)

  • Run kick off and progress meetings; draft/issue meeting minutes for assigned subcontracts.
  • Draft/log formal correspondence for assigned subcontractors.
  • Perform Change Management duties for assigned subcontracts.
  • Review and process invoices for assigned subcontracts.
  • Closeout assigned subcontracts.
  • Participates in the resolution/processing of backcharges and claims, as needed.

Qualifications

All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred. BA or BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Business, Technical or related field preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Three (3) years of relevant industry experience preferred or proven ability to perform at the capacity identified herein.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Normal office/field environment.
  • Includes, but may not be limited to: sitting, talking, grasping, hearing, keyboard input, seeing, and writing.
  • Reaching, kneeling, lifting, stooping, crouching, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Willing to relocate.

Pay

In accordance with local requirements, the annual compensation ranges for this role are listed below by state or jurisdiction and reflect the applicable office location(s) within each. Final compensation is determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, internal alignment, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.

  • State of California: $83,325 - $125,962
  • Other locations: $83,640 - $125,000
