About the Role

Empire Automotive Group’s Subaru of Huntington location is seeking a motivated, customer‑focused Auto Parts Counter Associate to support our fast‑paced and growing parts department. We’re looking for a career‑driven professional with prior automotive parts experience and a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience. This role requires physical strength and stamina, including frequent lifting, squatting, and carrying of heavy items. Parts positions offer either a salary or a salary‑plus‑commission structure for candidates with strong, proven counter experience. You’ll work closely with technicians, advisors, and retail customers to ensure accurate parts sourcing, smooth workflow, and strong team performance. This position is essential to the operational success and continued growth of our store.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the full parts sales process with accuracy and professionalism.
• Communicate clearly and courteously with customers, technicians, and internal staff.
• Provide timely updates regarding parts status and availability.
• Read and interpret parts catalogs to identify and source correct components.
• Answer incoming calls, provide price quotes, and assist customers with parts inquiries.
• Review body shop estimates to confirm correct parts and pricing alignment.
• Deliver high‑level service to both internal and external customers.
• Pull and fill orders from stock; perform weekly bin checks to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Notify the parts manager of out‑of‑stock items or urgent shop material needs.
• Locate out‑of‑stock parts through outside vendors and place emergency orders when needed.
• Ensure all internal parts requests are properly billed on service repair orders.
• Process payments from retail customers and secure credit authorization when required.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior auto parts counter experience preferred (dealership or aftermarket).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety, maintenance, and technical documents.
• Basic math skills, including calculating discounts, percentages, proportions, and measurements.
• A customer‑first mindset with the ability to build trust and deliver outstanding service.
• Reliability, enthusiasm, and a positive team‑oriented attitude.
• Openness to coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Strong computer and multitasking abilities.
• 40hr work week, available Saturdays.
