Sub - Bus Monitor

About the Role

This is routine work involving responsibility for maintaining order and monitoring students being transported on buses or other school transportation vehicles. Work is performed under general direction.

Responsibilities

• Assures that passengers remain seated and comply with basic bus safety regulations.
• Assures that shouting and general noise levels on the bus are kept at an acceptable level.
• Intervenes in situations involving arguments or fighting and takes appropriate measures to correct the situation.
• Makes referrals of students requiring discipline in connection with incidents occurring during transportation.
• Assists in sweeping and cleaning buses.
• May occasionally administer simple first aid, such as bandaging.
• Provides other assistance as deemed necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to get along well with students and command their respect.
• Some general knowledge of first aid.
• Tact, courtesy, and good judgment.

Qualifications

Either: Graduation from High School or possession of an equivalency diploma.

Pay

$16.50 hourly
