Stylist

About the role

Experience a perfect blend of deliberate purpose and clear-eyed vision at Ulta Beauty. As a Stylist, you’ll engage with guests, consult on their hair care needs, and deliver quality professional services with an emphasis on their total look. This role supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through a focus on performance, guest service, and operational compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform hair services including haircuts, color, texture treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed sales goals of $800 average weekly sales and productivity targets by delivering exceptional guest service.
• Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
• Demonstrate business acumen by understanding key drivers and identifying growth opportunities.
• Conduct product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives for an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Develop guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Uphold high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams to provide a well-rounded guest experience.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and state board guidelines for safety, sanitation, and infection control.
• Follow service protocols for a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
• Utilize booking systems to schedule return services and events.
• Maintain salon and store cleanliness, including restrooms, backroom, and break areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and loss prevention best practices.

Requirements

• Cosmetology license.
• Previous salon experience preferred.
• Proficiency in salon techniques for haircutting, coloring, styling, texture treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Ability to use salon equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships and clientele.
• Flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Skills

• Demonstrated ability to recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. during shifts.
• Frequent mobility, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and crouching during shifts.
• Ability to stand for long periods during shifts.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shifts.

Schedule

Flexible schedule required, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
