Designer

About the role

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. We meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educate them on all that is required for their project, and build a creative design concept that incorporates the customers' personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, developing clientele through networking and referrals
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions for multiple, simultaneous customer projects
• Manage projects from inquiry to installation, achieving sales and other goals
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects and support company initiatives
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in the market
• Utilize design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject
• Support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
• A degree in Design is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite

Qualifications

• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of design software and applications

Pay

Pay Range: $17.25 - $25.75

Schedule

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
