Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, interview, and actively source top fitness talent, including outbound recruitment efforts.
- Onboard, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Studio Instructors.
- Create and implement instructor training and upskilling initiatives.
- Create and maintain an annual Instructor Development and Upskill Calendar.
- Conduct regular class evaluations to ensure instructors maintain the integrity and quality of Midtown signature programming.
- Manage instructor performance through coaching, feedback, and development planning.
- Lead regular team communications, including weekly updates and quarterly team meetings.
- Develop and mentor the Studio Coordinator role.
- Programming & Participation Growth
- Create and manage robust studio schedules and class offerings across boutique studio spaces.
- Partner with the Program Manager on group programming schedules and strategic planning.
- Develop and execute participation growth initiatives to increase attendance and member engagement.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings by regularly attending classes within the boutique fitness market.
- Studio Experience & Operations
- Oversee all aspects of the studio experience to ensure a premium member environment.
- Manage studio equipment, inventory, and audio-visual systems.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member feedback, concerns, and inquiries.
- Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned.
- Community Building & Events
- Develop, plan, and execute studio events that build community and increase member engagement.
- Promote classes, instructors, special events, and studio initiatives weekly through club communication channels.
- Partner with club leadership to create meaningful experiences that drive member retention and participation.
- Reporting & Business Management
- Evaluate participation trends and recommend actions to improve performance.
- Aid in budget preparation, forecasting, and ongoing budget management.
- Maintain accurate records related to programming, participation, instructor evaluations, and operational performance.
- Minimum 5 years of Group Fitness experience.
- Previous leadership or management experience within fitness, wellness, hospitality, or related industries.
- Experience recruiting, onboarding, and developing fitness professionals.
- Experience creating schedules, managing programming, and driving participation metrics.
- Nationally recognized Group Fitness certification.
- CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
