Qualifications

• NYS Teaching Certificate in appropriate area.
• Ability to collaborate and support student access to core content academics, including knowledge and support of the learning standards and elements of Specially Designed Instruction across high school co-taught classrooms.
• Implementation of strategies that support literacy and vocabulary development across all content areas.
• Experience and knowledge of varied disability classifications, their potential learning impacts, and how to accommodate in the classroom.
• Evidence of Individualized Education Program (IEP) development based upon student deficits; this includes transition and goal development with progress monitoring systems.
• Knowledge to support work-based learning tracking, transition and exiting outcomes for each student.
• Evidence of ongoing, proactive, effective communication across students, staff and parents.
• Evidence of consistent classroom management with an emphasis on student engagement and support across various teachers, classrooms, expectations.
• Ability to balance and connect students' social and emotional well-being and academic progress.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning, growth and development.
