Student Worker - Kreher Preserve & Nature Center

Overview

The Kreher Preserve & Nature Center (KPNC) is seeking a part-time Nature Educator to teach about various natural subjects including plant life, animal life, forestry, geology, and more. The position involves leading interactive lessons, guided hikes, camps, and other nature programs.

Responsibilities

• Leads interactive lessons on natural subject areas.
• Completes the entire lesson lifecycle including setup, lesson planning, material prep, presenting, and cleanup.
• Leads guided hikes.
• Leads field trips, camps, birthday parties and other nature programs.
• Supervises students of elementary age and under (12 and under).
• Affords assistance with community events.
• Sets up program materials and displays for presentations and programs.
• Cleans and organizes educational materials and supplies.
• Researches and develops educational materials, references, and guides.

Qualifications

• Enrolled student at Auburn University.
• Experience working with the natural world.
• Excellent communication skills including written and verbal.
• Excellent time management skills.
