About the Role

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking Junior Admission (NFWS) Support Counselors (JC) to reinforce the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCE's Student Contact Center. Junior Counselors will work closely with full-time University Admissions Counselors to assist with student registration and support various student recruiting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and trust over the phone with students, parents, or high school administrators, sharing your GCU student experience.
  • Use University systems to execute multiple recruitment tasks.
  • Organize time effectively to complete prioritized work and achieve desired contact rates for service quality.
  • Guide prospective students through the free application and enrollment process, assisting with admissions paperwork and document collection to ensure student milestones are met.
  • Coordinate virtual and onsite visitations and meetings for University Admissions Counselors.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students inquiring about collegiate programs of study, working directly with local and out-of-state potential students who have graduated or are approaching high school graduation.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated with a passion for student success and GCU’s Christian mission.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong ability to multitask.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; knowledge of other systems is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student (online or campus) in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor-level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master-level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. Falling below minimum requirements may result in termination.

Schedule

Monday - Saturday hours vary based on the semester and business needs. Typical hours of operation are:

  • Monday-Thursday: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Saturday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Most positions are staffed for later afternoon shifts.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting: 6 - 8 hours a day depending on your work schedule.
  • Standing: 2-4 hours
  • Walking: 2 hours
  • Bending: Rarely
  • Squatting: Rarely

Pay

Minimum wage.

Anticipated end date: June 30, 2025. Must be able to work 100% onsite.
