About the Role
Gain experience in federal program operations, supporting public health data management and IT. Develop skills in data organization, info architecture, and applied AI. This position is within the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Support federal program operations related to public health data management and IT.
- Develop skills in data organization and information architecture.
- Engage in applied AI initiatives.
Requirements
- Must be a high school senior or college student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, Data Science, Health Informatics, Public Health, Business Administration, or other related disciplines.
- Must meet the definition of a student: "an individual enrolled not less than half-time in a high school, trade school, technical or vocational institute, junior college, college, university, or other accredited educational institution (5 U.S.C. 3111(a) and 5 CFR308.101)" throughout the duration of volunteer service, except during acceptable breaks in education as described in 5 CFR308.101.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in software engineering, data management, data analysis, and AI is highly desired but not required.
