Student Ultrasound Assistant

About the role

The Student Ultrasound Assistant, under the supervision of department leadership, maintains regulatory and professional standards and exhibits strong decision-making capabilities. This position requires a close working relationship with Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Services leadership, cardiologists, and medical staff to maintain a patient-focused service. Responsibilities include providing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular ultrasound procedures using approved workflows and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols to minimize repeat examinations, under direct supervision.
• Maintains exam productivity within established benchmarks.
• Completes all exams and documentation in CHL and PACS, under direct supervision.
• Identifies and accurately charges all studies, as directed.
• Addresses errors and resolves issues related to study results sent to PACS.
• Demonstrates a commitment to safe practices as outlined by departmental policies.
• Provides exemplary customer service and service recovery.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-1 years of experience in Healthcare-Ultrasound Training.

Qualifications

• BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
