Student Support Specialist - Old Town

About the role

The KidsPeace Old Town School is a special-purpose private school serving youth ages 3 - 22 with developmental disabilities and emotional disorders. We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, creative, and disciplined to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students in a therapeutic setting
• Assist with daily routines and activities
• Participate in individual and group therapy sessions
• Support staff in implementing behavior management strategies
• Document student progress and maintain records
• Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans

Requirements

• Must pass all background checks and clearances as required by the Maine Department of Education, DHHS, and OCFSP
• Preference given to those with experience in the field, although not required
• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required
