The Student Support Specialist
Pay Range: Targeted salary of $12/hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Comprehensive inventory management
- Handling deliveries
- Scanning equipment into tracking systems
- Organizing replacement cycles for faculty and staff
- Maintaining detailed asset assignment records in Excel
- Coordination with administrative departments for new hire equipment location
- Arranging delivery of technology assets across campus
- Maintaining thorough documentation of all deliveries, including location information and photographic confirmation
- Maintaining equipment readiness by rebuilding and refurbishing computers
- Focusing on preparing backup units and loaners for departmental needs and events
- Providing some first-level technical support to faculty and staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues while escalating complex problems to senior technicians when necessary
- Providing basic technical support for printers, software, and computer configurations within account permission levels
- Assisting with lab updates and network connectivity audits
- Evaluating assets for potential reuse, recommending serviceable equipment for introduction while ensuring damaged items are properly processed for parts salvaging or disposal
- Managing surplus operations of various scales, from routine small collections to large departmental projects exceeding 250 items
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
- Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
Qualifications
- Experience with asset tracking tools and inventory databases
- Proficiency in maintaining detailed records, using formulas, and managing spreadsheets
- Skills in rebuilding, imaging, and preparing computers for deployment
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues and escalate when needed
- Familiarity with basic printer maintenance and configuration
- Understanding of standard software setups and user permissions
- Basic knowledge of network diagnostics and connectivity check
