About the role

Join the Goodwill team as a Student Support Specialist, where you’ll play a pivotal role in empowering individuals with barriers to employment. By providing case management, vocational services, and community support, you’ll help participants achieve their career and educational goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, Sociology, or a related field (required).
  • Experience: Preferred one year of experience in case management or vocational services for individuals with employment barriers.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet use.
  • Clearances: Must pass all required background checks, including Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, and DHS-FBI Fingerprint.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation. An operating telephone is required for timely communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct participant orientations, outreach, recruitment, and intake services.
  • Develop and implement service plans tailored to participant goals.
  • Cookordinate services with other staff and community resources.
  • Provide career planning, case management, and workforce readiness training.
  • Assist participants in addressing barriers such as childcare and transportation.
  • Facilitate group and individual mentoring sessions.
  • Track participant progress and document outcomes.
