Ignite Education Solutions is hiring a Personal Care Aide to work with students at Derry Area School District.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene tasks (toileting, grooming, and dressing).
• Support students in mobility and transferring as needed.
• Provide physical and emotional support, including assisting students with physical disabilities in moving around the school, classrooms, and other facilities, and offering encouragement to students facing challenges.
• Implement individualized care plans developed in collaboration with teachers, school nurses, and other healthcare professionals; ensure unique needs of each student are met.
• Support in the classroom by collaborating with teachers and other school staff to facilitate students' participation in classroom activities, and assist with instructional materials and adaptive equipment as required.
• Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and school staff regarding students' progress and any concerns.
• Attend meetings with the educational team to discuss and update care plans.
• Promote independence by encouraging and empowering students to develop and maintain independence in daily activities whenever possible, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma minimum.
• Willingness to complete required clearances and training for child safety, including mandated reporter training, physical, and TB test (typically within a week).
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping for long periods throughout the eight-hour day.
• Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.
• Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.

Pay

• Starts at $17 per hour
