Student Support Specialist

About the role

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Student Support Specialist to join our Education/Bonner Academy team. The Student Support Specialist provides one-on-one and small group instructional support, assists clients with completing academic assignments and activities, supports clients in developing social, behavioral, communication, and life skills, assists with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies, assists clients transition between classes and activities, and promotes a safe, inclusive, trauma informed positive treatment environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one and small group instructional support
• Affords assistance with completing academic assignments and activities
• Supports clients in developing social, behavioral, communication, and life skills
• Affords assistance with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies
• Affords assistance with transitioning between classes and activities
• Promotes a safe, inclusive, trauma informed positive treatment environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Three years of mental health working experience
• QMHS eligibility
• Active driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
