Responsibilities
- Coordinating the general transition of students enrolled in the ATC’s College Program entering Marshall University.
- Facilitating all meetings during which supports are planned, developing those plans into a visual framework, and leading the creation of initial support plans based upon those meetings.
- Working closely with professors and university staff involved in teaching (or providing services to) enrolled students.
- Providing general and person-specific information to aid in effective teaching, and working with university staff to ensure a basic knowledge base exists for appropriate and effective interaction with students.
- Serving as a liaison with parents and of students.
- Collecting and reporting data regarding the progress and goals of incoming students.
- Aiding outgoing students in accessing peripheral university services, including but not limited to counseling, psychological assessment, medical care and treatment, and specialized tutoring.
- Assisting in providing training and information to essential service personnel so they may effectively serve students.
- Working closely with academic advisors assigned to incoming freshmen and transfer students.
- Participating in regular and periodic team meetings with the Program Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator, and working closely with graduate assistants who provide mentoring to students.
- Facilitating the skills group dedicated to upperclassmen.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
