Student Support Professional Reading Intervention

About the role

The Student Support Paraprofessional (SSP) provides targeted literacy support for students in grades 3–5 during daily intervention blocks. While teachers focus on high-need instruction, the SSP works with students on reading enrichment, foundational literacy skills, fluency practice, and academic support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted literacy interventions for students in grades 3–5
• Support reading enrichment, foundational literacy skills, and fluency practice
• Provide academic support during daily intervention blocks
• Help implement behavior plans and use de-escalation strategies
• Promote positive coping skills to maintain a safe and productive learning environment
