About the Role

If you love inspiring and motivating young learners and want to put students first in education, CSUSA is the right place for you. As a Reading Intervention Teacher, you will be responsible for the academic growth of small groups of students through targeted instruction and data-driven assessment.

Responsibilities

Work individually or in small groups with students to assess current level of performance.
Provide targeted instruction that meets the needs of each individual student.
Write lesson plans and analyze data under the direction of the Intervention Coordinator.
Treat all children with dignity and respect.
Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences, including in-service training as required by the district.
Operate and care for instructional equipment used in the classroom.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or immediate supervisor.
Assist with the supervision of students outside the classroom, such as on field trips, during play periods, lunchroom activities, and dismissal.
Maintain confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees outside the school.
Handle sensitive and confidential information, documents, communications, and incidents with discretion.
Cooperate and share professionally with other members of the staff.
Promote high academic achievement for all children, a greater focus on teaching and learning, flexibility to stimulate local initiatives, and improved linkages among schools, parents, and communities.

Requirements

College credit hours in the field of Education or a valid teaching certificate.
Experience in working with children, preferably children with disabilities.
Be in the process of becoming professionally prepared to supervise young children.
Speak, read, and write English fluently.
Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and the mission of the company; supports the company's values in academic excellence, operational performance, superior culture, and financial health and growth.
Ability to work and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities.
Displays good communication and uses common sense and a street-smart approach to student psychology.
Ability to consistently be at work, be on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance.
Excellent interpersonal skills between all constituents: being courteous, professional, and helpful.
Proficiency in computer basics: Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Student Information System (SIS).
Good knowledge of company and school policies and procedures.
Detailed knowledge of Federal, State, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school law preferred.

Usual school working conditions; may be noisy during high student traffic.
Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.

Physical Demands

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently needed to move objects.
No significant physical exertion required.
